Its ironic that Adelaide United's last victory was against Brisbane Roar, who are their opponents tommorrow night at Hindmarsh Stadium, but it was seven rounds ago.
Since then it has been four losses and three draws since that has all but guaranteed the South Australians the wooden spoon although they will compete in the Asian Champions League. On the other hand Brisbane have a sniff of the top six after knocking over Sydney FC last weekend and they would love to go over to Perth in Round 27 knowing a win could see them sneak into the top-six.
To do this Brisbane will need to win at Hindmarsh, and with Henrique back and Sergio van Dijk looking good they must remain the favourites.
In the other match affecting a Queensland franchise Gold Coast United, who are still in the race for a top two spot after their winning against Melbourne Victory, come up against Wellington Pheonix.
The home side have six wins and a draw from their last seven games at Skilled Park which is a great return and they will need to keep that level up against a Wellington Phoenix side who they haven't scored against in two attempts.
Wellington have only registered two wins on the road though, and it will be difficult seeing them adding a third after this match. It will be a fight to the death but the home side should prevail in their quest for the A-League finals double-chance.
