Twenty one players got out of bed early on Sunday morning to show coach Todd Rush, at Norbridge Park's trials, what they were capable of and there were another 4 or 5 who couldn't come on that day.
Although there was a percieved lack of support from older players in the U19 grouping a positive for Rush has been the number of Gladstone players showing an interest with six coming forward so far.
The CQ U19's are a development team and Football CQ are following a Football Queensland initiative promoting the team to the highest level of local football. MacKay and Townsville took this step last season and that showed in the QSL fixtures.
Any players who feel that Rush has missed them in the selection process or have had a change of mind about playing for the team should contact Rush on 0409053178. The CQ U19's will be training this week on Tuesday and Thursday at Norbridge Park with a 5.30pm kick off time.
